Kroger

Kroger Community Rewards

NOTE: YOUR KROGER REWARDS CARD MUST BE RENEWED EVERY YEAR IN ORDER TO REMAIN ACTIVE!

Our Organization Number is:
82646

St. Maurice Church has been a member of the Kroger Community Reward Program for several years, and receives returns on a quarterly basis from your shopping at Kroger stores.

We encourage parishioners to register your Kroger
card to St. Maurice Parish. Forms can be found on
the Bulletin table in the Gathering Area to be scanned, just one time with
your Kroger Plus card. Kroger will then contribute a
percentage back to St. Maurice, and all you did was
shop for your groceries! How easy is that?

Kroger changed their fundraising program to make it easier to use and help organizations like ours. Click on the link below for instructions about how to sign up online.

To date, we have received over $2,000 from this program.

Thank you for your support!

Honoring our Military Personnel

Flag

Many of us at St. Maurice and St. Genevieve have family members that are currently serving in the military. I am one of them, my son and daughter-in-law are active duty Marines. Recently, two of their buddies were shot while serving in Afghanistan...we knew them and their families (both I am happy to report will survive). This hit close to home for me and I thought of all the sacrifices they make hourly, daily, throughout their service. We sometimes forget they are there, putting their lives and most comforts and freedoms on hold, risking their life and limb for our freedom to gather in our neighborhood church without fear. Either training here stateside or abroad in battle, they face dangers for their safety each week. I am requesting names for a listing to be included in both bulletins each week.

I will start the list: Please hold our service men and women and their families in your prayers...

Dear Rev. Howard Vogan and Parishioners,

May the Lord Bring You Peace! Thank you for putting the needs of St. Aloysius Neighborhood Services on your 2011 Giving Tree. The generosity of your parish family help sustain our new “ad gentes” way of ministering in downtown Detroit.

Your support allows our volunteers to go to the gathering places of our brothers and sisters who have no place to call home and provide basic necessities for their daily walking journey. Your kindness also allows us to service low income seniors in the high rise apartment buildings .

Please accept our sincere appreciation for your friendship and know that you share in the prayers and good works of our parish community.

Gratefully,
Deacon Donald Leach, Pastoral Associate of Christian Service

Other Announcements

lay visitors The St. Maurice Lay Visitors group needs some additional volunteers. On Tuesday mornings we bring Holy Communion to our parish “shut-in’s”.

We gather in the church at 9:45a for a prayer and to get our consecrated Hosts. You will be trained in the procedure of visiting and you’ll find that you will enjoy the great feeling of doing for others. Time involved weekly is about one and a half hours.

For further information call the Rectory Office at 734-522-1616 or Jane Wojtan at 734-425-2727.

We need your voice! Become a Lector

star

If you are interested in lending your voice and reading skills to our weekend Masses then becoming a lector is the perfect way! We are in desperate need of some "new talent".

Call or stop by the rectory for more information.

Right To Life

PEPSICO FUNDING SENOMYX

Did You Know? Children of God for Life is leading scores of pro-life groups in a public boycott of food giant, PepsiCo, due to its partnership with Senomyx, a biotech company, using aborted fetal cells in the research and development of artificial flavor enhancers. PepsiCo is funding the research and development-paying royalties to Senomyx which uses HEK-203 (human embryonic kidney cells) to produce flavor enhancers for PepsiCo beverages. PepsiCo is ignoring criticism from pro-life advocates and consumers who have contacted the company about its contracts with Senomyx.
