WOMEN’S AWARENESS TRAINING & SELF - DEFENSE WORKSHOP

All women of the parish are invited to the Women’s Sodality meeting on February 7th at 7p for a special presentation by Carole Morrone, 6th Degree Black Belt in Japanese Shotokan Karate. Carole will provide tips for safety and security in your daily activities. Easily learned awareness skills relating to individuals, surroundings and situations will be provided. This is especially geared for all women & girls ages 12 and up. The workshop will be instructional and not a physically demanding workout. Please come in comfortable workout clothing.

Purpose: To provide women with tips for safety and awareness in their daily activities. This workshop will also provide awareness of weapons of the body that can be used to defend one’s self and targets to attack to thwart an assault.

2012 Men's Club Event Calender

Our drop-in bowling continues Thursday mornings 9:30a at Woodland Lanes on Plymouth Rd. New bowlers are welcome. Also, our annual No-tap bowling tournament is scheduled for Thursday, January 5th. You must have (9) games bowled to be eligible for a cash prize. Last week we had 18 bowlers (season’s high) bowling on 6 alleys.

MEN'S CLUB SEEKING NEW MEMBERS! We are asking parish men of any age to join and add some new creativity and vitality to this important parish organization. The Men's club is one of the driving forces behind many of the activities that are so important to keeping our church vital, fun and family oriented. The membership of the club has been dwindling in recent years putting a great amount of responsibility on a few of our dedicated members. Now we're asking for your help to keep this club going as well as so many of our beloved church traditions. Please consider dropping in and helping us to move our club and our parish into the future for many years to come!

The next meeting of the book club will be February 20th in the St. Genevieve Parish Center at 7p. We will be discussing: Major Pettigrew’s Last Stand by Helen Simonson. Pick up a copy from the library or from one of the area department or book stores and join us. All are welcome!
